Alison Wheatley

alison_Main.pngI am Alison Wheatley, a new 1* Instructor of the Parelli Program.

My horsemanship journey has led me down this path purely because of my desire to share this progressive program with others.  Parelli has completely revolutionized my relationships with horses and empowered me to train them and progress with them myself to a level I never imagined possible.  I have never had so much fun with horses as now and I consider it a privilege to share with others who are looking to put the relationship first with their horses, whether as pets or competitors.

I have always had a passion for horses and was one of those kids who slogged every weekend at the local stables just to be near them!  My background has been traditional English and my particular interest as a young adult was affiliated show jumping.  After a break from horses to start a family, I then bought myself a quarter horse and started Western Riding which was great fun, but didn’t seem so much fun for my horse.  A good friend introduced me to Parelli and I have never looked back…

I started the Parelli Program in 2006 in a clinic with Jackie Chant 4* Instructor and continued to attend courses and conferences each year, following the levels program in the interim.  I then went to the UK Parelli Centre at Stoneleigh Park for two longer courses, including the Fast Track which is an accelerator course but also the horsemanship foundation for potential instructors.  Finally I have reached my goal of officially helping others with the program by graduating from the Instructor Course in 2011.  I still have much progress to make and new goals to reach for and I am excited to play a part in making the world a better place for horses and humans.
